East Tacoma Workshelf The City of Tacoma, Maryland, is home to the two largest commercial and community libraries in the United States. It has 24,000 residents and over 98,000 individuals. Tacoma, Maryland has the largest collection of State government and federal library assets. A wide variety of programs, activities and museums are known to continue to serve nearly this demographic. The Tacoma City Library maintains about 25,000 prints on its collections and, for the first time in its history, provide free and immediate access to its permanent collections. Another important purpose of the Library is to provide an excellent foundation for the development of a library facility and has maintained during the past three decades over 300,000 prints. The library also provides free and immediate access to the interior and exterior walls of other residences. The Tacoma City Library’s history has become intertwined with that of the Central Library, which has recently restored its entire collection. The City’s current program has produced considerable progress in academic development and library service. The library also has an exceptional history and has helped gain the broad support of the Federal Government and its Congress.
