The sustainable cooperative has done quite well so far but now they face increased demand with no affordable rent prices. They would like to preserve these prices without having a big financial impact that would threaten long-term growth opportunities. Nobody likes living in a dorm while working on getting ahead or doing an internship for cheap while saving, right? But imagine if that experience was one full of life and character rather than being just about work and sacrifices. This idea could have its foundation in the Union Sustainable Development Cooperative Part 2. ## Problem Statement: Finding Sustained, Profitable Approach to Millennial Living with Lower Carbon Preference without Compromising Affordability Union wants to design sustainable living units (SLUs) with lower environmental impact. SLU, an innovative idea of sustainable coop with a community living aspect and a car sharing or green vehicles system integrated at the core of a new millennial-favoring development. Millennial generation with a preference of eco-living would love such units to preserve planet earth without compromising affordability, leading Union to revisit a sustainable strategy to provide more living unit solutions, especially as water pollution from urban lifestyle becomes critical and expensive to remediate and as land becomes more scarsce for future development with the existing buildings occupying valuable downtown real estate to meet affordable and sustainable living needs of future millennials.
