Managing Workplace Diversity Samantha Bieler Dear colleagues, I wrote August 15, 2006, in response to a request from the State of California to set up an event called “The Stanford Program for Tech Makers” that is planned to be hosted three more weeks and will be geared up for both small businesses and private schools. I did not say anything about “the Stanford Program for Tech Makers.” Basically, I just wanted to make sure it was a unique opportunity to use local companies that do well in their market, and I wanted it to be someplace that was local and relevant to areas that students are most comfortable with. In closing, I sincerely apologize for my public criticism of the Stanford Program for Tech Makers. It was very helpful and very important to me to know this program and to get people involved where I had no previous background in any other field.
